Tena Laing

Tena Laing recently completed her MFA and thesis collection of short stories at the University of British Columbia, where she was on the Prism Magazine editorial board. She is a twin from Newfoundland, living and writing in Toronto; however, she has also called Halifax, Quebec, Tokyo, and Calgary home. An alum of The Banff Centre, Sage Hill, The Humber School for Writers, and the Bard Institute for Writing and Thinking. Tena won the Muskoka Novel Marathon Manuscript Contest and is on the shortlist for the Fiddlehead Fiction Prize. Her fiction and non-fiction have appeared in various literary magazines and anthologies including Horseshoe Literary Magazine, The Read, Writing in the Time of Covid, and Writing From the Inside Out. She has read her work at both The Toronto International Festival of Authors and Local Writers Read at Woody Point Festival in Newfoundland. She is currently revising her first novel.
