Norman Morra

Reviews & Interviews Editor (Non Fiction)

Norman Morra is a writer and sociologist whose work explores narratives of violence in sport, against women, and within policing and military contexts. His debut memoir, Beyond the Terrazzo Veranda (Bayeux Books, 2021), traces his upbringing in Toronto and the cultural forces that shaped his Italian immigrant family. Born in Toronto, Morra spent two decades working in the family business before earning a doctorate in sociology from York University in 1996. In addition to university teaching, he has acted in film and, like James Joyce, taught English for Berlitz language schools.
