The Artisanal Writer

Exploring the Craft of Writing

Acknowledgements

This online journal is published from Toronto, Ontario. For thousands of years it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit.. We gratefully acknowledge the territory of the Anishinabek, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples; the land that is home to the Metis; and most recently, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who are direct descendants of the Mississaugas of the Credit. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land, and by doing so, offer our respect to its first inhabitants.

Interviews included on this site might reference previously published questions and responses on other forums, we acknowledge the debt of all previous editors, participants and respondents for their past conversations. We request that conversations on this platform are seen as continuation of all such previous conversations.

Many of the interview questions have been derived from or inspired by Helen Sword’s “Air & Light & Time & Space: How Successful Academics Write” and a seminar based on that source material, conducted by Dr. Bronwen Tate at the Creative Writing MFA program at the University of British Columbia. We gratefully acknowledge their contributions.

We thank every writer featured in this space without whose generous participation this project would not have been possible.
